I also think the new 2.6.31 kernel is a huge improvement. I have been using it with Jaunty since about RC9. Sounds like Koala won't be a dog like Jaunty was.

I think a lot of credit should go to the new linux 2.6.31 kernel .... the snappier performance is definitely a result of the kernel improvements ...

The new sound UI is nice and simplified, although it still has some issues to work through.

I like the rich brown. In fact, I've had that color for years. I'm okay with warm tones as long as it isn't the hideous orange. ;-) In fact, when I try blue now, I find it ugly! I don't care too much as long as they let us continue to customize it.

I also love that the Intel graphics card is fast and stable (again?)

[...] Significant improvements in Ubuntu 9.10 I recently installed the beta version of the upcoming version of Ubuntu codenamed Karmic Kuala. The changes since 9.04 are somewhat subtle yet significant. Already in the beta you can feel the polish that went into it. Below, in no particular order, I shall rant about a few improvements that puts a smile on my face. [...]
